STATEMENT FROM RICHARD PETTY MOTORSPORTS REGARDING THE RELEASE OF AJ ALLMENDINGER

CONCORD, N.C. (Dec. 21, 2011) – “Richard Petty Motorsports has released AJ Allmendinger to pursue other opportunities within the sport,” stated team Chief Executive Officer Brian Moffitt. “AJ is a talented driver whom we all enjoyed working with and we wish him the best.”

“Our plan remains to run a two-car team in ...the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2012 and we are continuing down that path,” said Moffitt. “We believe there are several very talented drivers who are still available and would embrace the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the legendary No. 43 Ford Fusion. We continue to move forward and are optimistic about the future of this race team.”

That's the word, but given Busch's checkered history with Roush there's some rough edges that need to be sorted.
I pity Mr Petty trying to control that imbecile though!

Don't underestimate James Finch Apart from being a fun guy, and old school....he uses Hendrick gear, which would be as close as KuBu would ever get to Hendrick equipment LOL

Dinger never got dumped, he had the deal in the bag b4 ever a parting word was said tween him & RPM.  

Read between the lines... “We believe there are several very talented drivers who are still available and would embrace the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the legendary No. 43 Ford Fusion. We continue to move forward and are optimistic about the future of this race team.” 

Seems to me The Ding donged RPM in favour of the big ride with Penske, a top tier team... and rightly so!!
If Ding was contracted to RPM for 2012, the team would benefit greatly from the cash injection to release him... hey, if Roger P calls who wouldn't go running!!

would say Ragan since Roush never really wanted to lose him and since there is a strong tie with roush/fenway with motors and tech support you may see him in the 43 next year.

Aric would be good but the guy is just not solid enough a performer, had good rides but never realy did anything with it, least ragan has won a race.
