Expected, its the only way to make workable business model that can last, although one questions just how much development  that will provide as it would appear that cost would be absorbed in servers alone. One also hopes the auto D/L system was better than the last one, and that the rF lite concept will be available. This was a feature that is extremely necessary when modders are providing content, as we know from the past some were not so good and didnt play nicely with others.

I wouldnt want my whole rF game made useless because some modder has buggered it up....

They really need to get this right from the get-go, or those that enjoy I-R's standards now wont give it a serious chance untill it meets or exceeds it.

Great value for money imo. Mike I don't think they provide servers for that fee...it's updates, matchmaking and file checking as far as I can make out.

When your talking about rF lite your thinking of more then one install on any one PC.  rF2 it seam want allow more then one install to operate. With rF1 the licence will work on as many installs as you could have but not with rF2. There is some mention of a mod mode. Still not sure what this is all about  yet.

Does Rfactor2 come with real and changeable weather during prac/qual/warmup and races?? does it have LTT?? because if it does and they get the pyhsics for the cars spot on or near enough then that has 2 advantages (weather and LTT) over iracing straight away.

Iam not knocking iracing, dont get me wrong there please but that is something the guys over at iracing need to do....that is bring in rain effects as it does get quite boring running dry races all the time, and LTT makes it more realistic as the track evolves over the course of practice/qualifying/warmup and race, if you get offline your in trouble especially if you do get the pickup on your tyres from running offline. Iam really hopeing that this IS a feature of the new one.

If it has these featues then i will definetely buy it and for $13 a year after the initail purchase price then that sounds like good value to me.

 Wink

Tim Wheatley off ISI lifted up the curtain a bit on the official rFactor 2 forum, what we probably can expect to see in the Open Beta. The Open Beta is still planned arround Christmas this year.  Below you can find the provisional car and track list.

Tim Wheatley:

1 licensed 1966 F1 car, with generic fillers.
3 tracks: Spa, Monaco, and another.

Renault Megane, Formula Renault 3.5
3 tracks (most likely), Malaysia, Portugal, Mills.
