@ Les yes mate we are sensative to the cost factor side of things and hence why we arent dropping other series, this is just going to be another choice. We held off on this sim for a long time due to costs and also Hosting not being an option in earlier builds, now the sim offers us pretty much the same server options we can set now for an extremely low cost. I have mentioned this before, myself and others have offered to fit the hosting costs and it is as low as a couple of bucks to host a server for night so we could take in turns and I dont even mind covering the whole first series Cheesy if need be once we get more used to the format and the sim I am sure we could even arrange to take in turns hosting on the race night. If you dont want to race it mate then dont, I suppose its the same as those that dont race rFactor but race SimBin and those that Race ARCA but not SimBin we have always had choices and preferences here and when a demand for a sim warrants a look in we go with it.

@ Mike yeh mate I am thinking the same mainly base content for at least one of the series and if we add an addon track or 2 they will be the final rounds of the series so those of not keen to purchase can sit it out, still very much to be decided, also in regards to poor driving I agree in the rookie series and even D class it can be very ordinary and in a lot of cases its worth just not qualifying and rear of field and wait for wrecks and then drive on through, when you get up to C Class the game does really pick up the satndard is pretty high and the cars are popular so quite often have A and B class guys with you, but when racing Rookie and D class its normally all D and Rookie guys some nights can be great and others can be downright horrible, all the more reason for Hosting a series  Grin

Did this while dinner was cooking ... just playing, but something along these lines??

I also thought while I was doing it, that a few minor prizes might help get us going seeing as we are a bit behind as Aussie Leagues go.

Eg: Series 1st, 2nd, 3rd .... maybe 10,7 and 5 iR credits. (covered by me or others, NOT from the ATR kitty).

Could be a good or a bad idea, dunno which, just a thought.

Simon.

PS:  Dates were just to fill it in.

I would luv to have a go at an oval, as i have never raced in one.  I like what Simon Has got there.  We could probaly get a few 5 week series going with just the basic pack.

This is great news, thank you "God" for listening to our prayers, and those behind the scenes that helped make this happen.......  Wink

1/ I am happy to run anything that is decided upon.
2/ I am happy to pay what is needed in whole or in part to host servers for a series or help out admin in any way I can.
3/ A few mixed races is good, and giving a few different cars a try at suitable tracks from the basic package would let new comers get a taste of everything in the first 3 months. And a few legend races on oval and road would be fun (legends have the ability to be set up for road racing as well)
The idea of running some car/track combos that require extra $$$ in week 10-12 is a good one so guys can see some of the great new stuff available to them.
4/ It will be great to be able to chat with guys over the in "sim" comms and get to know some of you who I have never spoken to before.
5/ For those thinking of taking up the 3 month offer for the first time, I have a discount coupon (which can onlly be used once by one person) that I am willing to pass on. Just PM me.
6/ Anyone getting in for the first time has alot to take in, if you have questions, pls ask, in open forum of via PM (if you are shy) there are heaps of people here that are more than willing to share info, no matter how basic.

cheers
Mike

Tony, the race notice was just a temp one I through together, just to get an idea on what we may like ..... Dates and times still to be set, but stay tuned to this station.  Wink

To add to Mikes post, If anyone is going to join up to have a try for the first time, reference one of your fellow ATR members when you do and they'll recive 10 iR credits.  Cheesy

And looking at the race notice, makes me think, throwing in a run at richmond under lights, might be somthing different and fun in the MX-5  Smiley

Yep like it Simon the dates are a little soon  Shocked but I think we might only be a week or so out from the first round. So I think we should lock in a series in the Mazda MX5 in the with the layout Simon has selected do we agree on that one? the main benefit is you can go racing for as little as 12 bucks ATM and when your 3 months up well you can make the choice.

The alternate week will be the more difficult decision, well it sounds like V8's are done on Mondays and done very well, I am steering towards the Skippies as Simon mentioned these are a great way to learn this sim and they have had a fairly major makeover recently and look even sweeter than before, we could run similar track line up as Mazda MX 5 or add an additional track at the end of the series so those new can buy in if they wish and maybe miss the last round if they dont want to purchase the track at the end. Also the Skip Barber is a D Class or high safety rating Rookie class car so even the noobs can be racing the iRacing seasons without having to put in a tone of time behind the wheel.

This is great news.

I like the idea of multiclass racing, you can have a couple of series running at once and will have bigger fields.

@ oval racing. I would love to run the trucks as a series, they are nice and stable and arent stupidly slow either. I dont think an oval series would ruin your arca series jeff, as you probably arent really getting any iracing guys in there (im NOT having a dig just stating) so it would just be another choice as is being put.

As ive said before to nige i am more than happy to flip the bill of the hosted sessions every week, just to be able to race with the austeam guys again will be worth it.

Multi-class sure is a lot of fun, but I think starting out with one car until we get a idea of numbers will be the way to go.

Another option is we could try a different car ( from the basic package ) each week.

So I think MX-5's will be a good place to start, and we'll go from there. Though that's just my opinion.

Our first goal should be to get in sim together and have some fun.
