A-WTCC Series 2011

Ok guys it’s on again, we are going to run what this Sim was intended for and that is WTCC. This series will be similar to the first series we ran and again following the real series rules as much as possible. This series will see a
NEW
rule, where all cars lining up for round 1 will be carrying 20kgs of compensation weight, after 2 events (4 rounds) the car manufacturer performance will determine how much of that starting ballast is to be removed or added for event 3 (rounds 5-6) and again to be re-evaluated after the 4th round and so on. In addition to this drivers finishing positions from each event will also determine how much weight they carry to the next round, but the maximum compensation weight of both Car and driver can’t exceed over 70kg. We will see a
NEW
team’s rule change in regards to vehicle choices, this is to ensure the field is mixed with as close to all models as possible and not just BMW's and SEAT TDI's it will be as follows, the list below shows what cars are allowed to be used for the number of drivers in that team. Also drivers in that team can’t switch cars during the season must race same car all season. Also
NEW
this series, will be virtual prize money, using the real 2011 prize pool allocations for the privateer class of WTCC.
TEAMS With 4 Drivers
=========================
Driver 1: BMW 320si or SEAT LEON TDI
Driver 2: BMW 320si or SEAT LEON TDI
Driver 3: Chevrolet Lacetti, SEAT LEON TFSI or Honda Accord Euro R
Driver 4: Lada 110, or Volvo C30
TEAM With 3 Drivers
=========================
Driver 1: BMW 320si or SEAT LEON TDI
Driver 2: Chevrolet Lacetti, SEAT LEON TFSI or Honda Accord Euro R
Driver 3: Lada 110 or Volvo C30
TEAM With 2 Drivers
=========================
Driver 1: BMW 320si, SEAT LEON TDI, Chevrolet Lacetti, Honda Accord Euro R
Driver 2: Chevrolet Lacetti, Honda Accord Euro R, SEAT LEON TFSI, Lada 110 or Volvo C30
** Single Drivers car drive whatever they like **
Virtual Prize Purse €624,000
==================
The prize money for the Austeam World Touring Car Championship's category has been set to a total of 624,000 euros for the 2011 season by WTCC partners
BOC Mining Supplies
and
Twilight Limousines
& Yokohama is going to award 40,000 euros per race weekend. The prize money is going to be given to the top six drivers overall of each weekend, by adding the results from the two races of each race weekend.
The scale of the prize money will be awarded according to the following list:
12,000 euros to the first driver
10,000 euros to the second driver
8,000 euros to the third driver
5,000 euros to the fourth driver
3,000 euros to the fifth driver
2,000 euros to the sixth driver
On top of that, 3 500 euros will be awarded by
Twilight Limousines
to the driver setting fastest lap of each race.
A new award for this year is a total of 60,000 euros in prize money for the drivers of cars complying with the 2010 Appendix J (2.0-litre normally aspirated and turbo diesel). The prize money will be awarded using the same system as for the Yokohama prize money, but top three instead of top six.
2,500 euros to the first driver
1,500 euros to the second driver
1,000 euros to the third driver
Manufacturer Compensation Weights
=========================
The maximum compensation weight is 40 kg and is applied between a maximum of +40 kg to a minimum of –20 kg. When a model's average is within the 0.3-second threshold in relation to the fastest model, no action is taken.
If a model is slower than the fastest model by more than 0.3s, 10 kg are deducted from the maximum compensation weight for every complete 0.1s more than the +0.3s threshold, up to a maximum of 40 kg.
When a model with less than 40 kg of compensation weight is within 0.3s of the fastest (reference) model, 10 kg are added to the current compensation weight per complete 0.1s within the 0.3s threshold.
The fastest (reference) model always carries the maximum compensation weight on board.
Driver Compensation Weights
=========================
In combination with Manufacturer compensation weights, there will also be driver weights added which will be calculated at the end of each round. The maximum combination weight of both Manufacturer/Driver cannot exceed 70kgs. This will be calculated from both Race 1 and Race 2 combined points. The totaled and the compensation weights will appy as follows:
1st = 20kgs
2nd = 15kgs
3rd = 10kgs
4th = 5kgs
5th = 0kgs
6th = -5kgs
7th = -10kgs
8th = -15kgs
9th = -20kgs
Points System
==========
1st: 25 pts
2nd: 18 pts
3rd: 15 pts
4th: 12 pts
5th: 10 pts
6th: 8 pts
7th: 6 pts
8th: 4 pts
9th: 2 pts
10th: 1 point

Hey guys,
I would definately love to join this league (if I am allowed), Just, I have steam, but there are many difference versions of 'race' to purchase. I really want to ensure I purchase the right one, so if someone could please tell me the exact name of the game, ill purchase it.
Another question as well is, are all the cars fairly evenly matched? I will wait Until I have purchased the game before I decide on which vehicle to use.
any help is greatly appreciated.

Sure mate you will get many of us trying to help here I am sure but first do you own Race 07' at all?
- If you already have Race 07' then just buy the Race On expansion (just Race On) $24.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/8780/
- If you dont own Race 07' then you need to buy the bundle (Race 07' + Race On + STCC) $29.99
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2277/
Steam and the Race Series by SimBin can be confusing and to explain the path that SimBin went down, after GTR2 I suppose it is similar to rFactor in some ways.
* The main platform is Race 07' this is the base needed for all there releases after it Race 07' was released 16/10/2007 like all previous SimBin Titles in the past (GTR, GTL , GTR2, Race) it simulated a real race series and that was the WTCC 06, 07 series but they also added some extra race classes for the first time Radical, F3000, Minis, & WTCC 87.
* Then because everyone missed the FIAGT series so much they decided to release an Add-on for Race 07' to get this out and that was GTR Evo 1/9/2008, it was quite good but not as good in my opinion as Race 07' there were many features that had to be left out because the main platform was designed around simulating WTCC, then they released STCC in 23/10/2008 and then released Race On in 17/10/2009 I think Simbin sold less copies of each add-on after GTREvo I think mainly due to the fact that many were hoping for the Lizard engine that had been released on their console Game Race Pro and also many were dissapointed with GTR Evo after using GTR2. Race On is actually very good and I think better than Race 07' and the Formula Masters series that is also running every alternate week to the WTCC series we are running is also in Race On so you can race both series with this purchase

hey mate you are welcome to run but not sure if you are aware or not, but Austeam had to vacate their servers and are now are paying for server hosting costs, this was something one of our major sponsors was able to cover for us in the past. As a result we had the choice either close the doors of Austeam or go down the road of subscription, so we went with subscription so untill you are a paid member you wont have access to the racing forums only the general stuff. So if you keen to race and have Race On, this will allow you to compete in Formula Masters and WTCC 08' let me know if your still keen

Hey Mike always use the Calendar up the top of the page Series managers normally always link the event information to the relevant date on the Calendar. So if you select the Calendar up the top look for the 8-3-2011 and click on A-WTCC Rounds 3 @ 4 = Voila
