ESSENTIALS – THE RIGHT HARDWARE
It's essential with racing sims that your computer system is capable of running the sim at least at minimal acceptable frame rate. The minimal frame rate you can get away with will vary from sim to sim however be advised we are talking about wheel to wheel racing and everything can and does happen fast (things in racing sims happen at up to 250 mph. in racings sims you're often just centimeters apart so we can race door to door without crashing or causing crashes. Participate in online racing with inadequate equipment or a very low frame rates will usually lead to a lot of frustration for both you and those you're trying to race with.
ESSENTIALS - A QUALITY INTERNET CONNECTION
Racing sims do really need a stable internet connection to run online. Once you have established your high quality connection you may still need tweak to get even more quality. Most of our Members are on ADSL or even cable connections however some are still racing on reliable Dial-Up connections.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – WHEEL & PEDALS
A good wheel and pedals setup will enhance your sim racing experience and it really is a need to join Austeam Racing. A game pad, keyboard or even a Joystick will do the job the erratic controlling seen is a complete waste of time for everyone concerned, regardless of whether it's supported by the sim or not.
