It gives me great pleasure in advising that the front page has been updated with the Historical race reports, these reports took our reporters a number of days, research, statistic reviews etc to complete as they provide information from round 1 to date. These race reports for this style of racing will become a regular event and as such I would suggest and recommend people don't link directly to the Austeam forums and have it return to the front page allowing you all to keep up with information etc. All front page information can only be seen by visiting the front page. We are trying to work toward more series styles being reported on however will need to recruit more reporters in these events to do this, so if interested in giving this a go feel free to email gavinc@austeamracing.com Please also note and this has been advised before, that the front page also houses the top 10 drivers and their point totals for each series, the Sinbin stuff needs some more work at this stage and the links need updating and over time this will be completed. I wont advise who our current race reporter are as these people might not want to be known, if they do advise at a later date their names will be showing at the stories end but what I would like to do is pass a huge thanks to them, the task at hand to provide accurate race details as true reporters and covering each and almost every driver is a fantastic job and they deserve to have their stories read and appreciated. Austeam thanks you and I thank you. http://austeamracing.com This post has been provide as an emailed copy to all registered members of the Austeam forums. “Making a Difference”

“Making a Difference” Helga’s Personal Challenge Yeah, yeah, yeah, now what? I can hear those that have known me for some years saying, “what on earth is Helga going to do now?” For those that don’t know me that well, I’ll let you in on a little secret, I love a challenge, one that has substance and meaning behind it and gives me the edge I need to get there. This challenge, in particular, has more meaning to me than any of the other challenges I have done. My story Nine and a half years ago my Dad, Kurt passed away. Dad was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, which was known as manic depression, involving both periods of feeling extremely low (depressed) and extremely high (mania). This illness is closely linked to family history and unfortunately my niece Natasha had similar diagnosis and sadly passed away one and a half years ago at the age of 27. I dedicate this challenge to my dad Kurt Pesenhofer ![]() & niece Natasha Whitmore My Goal About five years ago, I injured myself just before the Canberra Marathon, and shattered by the ordeal I gave running away altogether. Late last year I decided to stage a return and challenge myself to complete a Marathon, the Gold Coast Marathon on 5 July 2009. ![]() My target is to raise $5,000 to donate to beyondblue: the national depression initiative, to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance use disorders throughout Australia. I’m calling for donations from people, friends and family to inspire me to keep the training up so that I can complete the marathon. Make it worth my while…help me raise money for beyondblue. Together we can all “make a difference” to the lives of those that are and have been affected by depression. You can donate an amount or sponsor me per kilometre I run…the marathon is 42km. Donations over $2 are tax deductible. If you require a receipt please email me g31k@bigpond.com your address. Receipts will be issued within a few weeks of receipt of donations. Donations / sponsorship funds can be deposited into the following bank account: Name: Ms H M Dalla Bank: Community CPS BSB: 805-022 Acct: 285961 Reference: BB (& your name) Cheques can made out to: beyondblue Depression Research Ancillary Fund and posted to me at 11 Cogill Rd, Buderim QLD 4556. Did you know that the most disabling illness in Australia today is not heart disease or cancer— it’s depression. On average, one in five Australians will experience depression at some point in their lifetime. Mental illness is currently the leading cause of non-fatal disability in Australia, and depression and anxiety accounts for over half of this burden – to find out more visit www.beyondblue.org.au Together with beyondblue, opening our eyes to depression across Australia Challenging your self to do more than you have ever done before is absolutely a fantastic feeling…..and when your helping a really worthy cause …it’s magnified ten fold!!! …try it…challenge your self, I’ll support you too!![/size] |
